Stropharia rugosoannulata var. lutea is the yellow form of Stropharia rugosoannulata. Caps are yellow to yellowish-brown, 5-15 cm wide, dry, smooth and sometimes cracked with age. The gills are attached, white at first, turning grayish-lilac to purple-black with maturity. The stipe is whitish, discoloring yellow to brown and with white rhizomorphs at the base.
